Blast from the Past

My sister Eileen sent me this picture this morning.  It is me and Kyle from long ago.  So special to remember.  I have been working on wool felt and loving it.  I will add some pictures later.  I hope everyone is having a good day,

Working on more things for Etsy

I started buying wool sweaters to recycle (or upcycle).  I love shopping in the second hand stores, bringing the sweaters home, taking them apart and washing and drying them to make wool felt.  These are some of the projects I have been working on.
This is made from a piece of a recycled wool sweater with a needle felted heart added to the middle,
I love how the needle felted heart shows on the inside of the cover.

I used pieces of recycled wool sweated that I cut and pieced for this scarf.

It takes forever to get pictures.  My friend Marie told me to get a lighting studio set up from Ocean State Job lot.  I will start using that tomorrow.  I will let you know when I open my shop.

This is a picture of me with some of my house mates. The women I stayed with were awesome. The food was incredible. The teachers were the salt of the earth and the whole vibe so cool and supportive.

In My Absolutely Aprons I remembered how much I really loved to sew.  The class was with teachers.Derek Fagerstrom and Lauren Smith who were cool and supportive.  They are the owners of the Curiosity Shoppe and gallery in San Francisco.at

Thank you to my new friend and classmate Shelly Fromholtz for sharing her pictures.  I left my camera at home and I was so lost without it.

Sharyn and I took the Judy Wise classes together

I took the art journal and wabi sabi classes. This picture was sent along to me by my housemate, Kerry.  It is a picture of me and my friend Sharyn Adams.  We had an incredible time.  I hope we return next fall.

Wabi Sabi Paper.  We used brayers, stencils, leaves rubber stamps to apply acrylic paints to Japanese papers.

We each made a journal and did a short exercise during class.  I sat by the fire and wrote in my journal on Saturday.

Working on Art for Etsy

Today I worked on a book containing pages sprayed with various glimmer mists and moon glow sprays.  Sharyn visited this week and that always makes me happy.  Nancy See and Kelly Kilmer will be here in August -- so good!!!!

Whitman Boys Soccer 16 and Under Win State Championship

Liam was a player and Paul a Coach.  Our little town won and it was so much fun.

Kyle's 20th Birthday

Kyle turns 20 today.  We went to Border's and bought him a nice harder cover book that he has been looking forward to reading.  We went to Uncle Charlie's for lunch/breakfast and it was sweet because it was our favorite place to go for breakfast when we lived in South Weymouth.  After I picked up Liam from school we went with Kyle to Game Stop to get him a game he has been lusting after.  Tonight he's having friends over to watch the Celtics game and eat pizza and watermelon cake.  A happy day.  Life is good.

I have included a picture of the box I constructed and decorated in a class with Jane Davies at Scrapbook Cupboard.  Also a couple of journal pages I have been working on to help me with the ups and downs of starting a home business.
